Coventry MotoFest 2016
The Aston Martin Vulcan – a £1.8m supercar and the British luxury brand’s most intense and exhilarating creation to date – is to make a headline appearance at this year’s Coventry Motofest event.
The exquisite 800-plus bhp, all-carbon fibre Aston Martin Vulcan will run on the Coventry Motofest ring road circuit in its first ever appearance on a UK public road.
It will perform demonstration display laps on the ring road circuit, driven by Scottish professional race driver Peter Dumbreck, who has competed in the Le Mans 24 Hour race, Touring Car Championship and SuperGT events.
The appearance of the Aston Martin Vulcan is part of a triple treat of motoring magnificence from Aston Martin set to delight motoring fans during the Coventry Motofest weekend.
Alongside the Vulcan, Aston Martin will display, on the Greyfriars Green area, a V8 Vantage S, a DB9, a V12 Vantage and a Vanquish to mark the opening of the new Aston Martin dealership in Solihull, Birmingham.
Finally for fans of classic Aston Martin cars, the Aston Martin Owners Club will run a range of vehicles including a DBS, DB9, a V8 Vantage, Vanquish, GT12 and a couple of pre-war cars in demonstration laps on the ring road circuit.
James Noble, Coventry Motofest Event Director, said: “We are incredibly excited to have the Aston Martin Vulcan taking part in this year’s Coventry Motofest.
“It will be a fantastic occasion as the Vulcan runs on a public road circuit for the first time in the UK, offering the crowds at Coventry Motofest the chance to get a unique close up look at this amazing car.
“We are very thankful to Aston Martin for allowing this opportunity with the Vulcan and for other elements of the weekend involving the Grange dealership and Aston Martin Owners Club and we look forward to creating another incredible spectacle at Coventry Motofest.”
The Aston Martin Vulcan is scheduled to appear in two separate slots on the long track programme on both Saturday and Sunday of the festival weekend.
Sacha Noble, Brand Manager at Aston Martin Birmingham said: “Aston Martin Birmingham are proud to support Coventry MotoFest & Aston Martin.
“With our new dealership now open in Hampton in Arden, we look forward to welcoming guests to our stand over the weekend.”
The Aston Martin Vulcan set to appear at Coventry Motofest is one of only 24 examples worldwide and is born out of extensive motorsport experience, using the Aston Martin brand’s flair for design and engineering ingenuity.
Styled entirely in-house by the Aston Martin design team led by Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, and with a design language hinting at the next generation of Aston Martin sports cars, this supercar is powered by the most potent iteration yet of the company’s naturally-aspirated, 7.0-litre V12 petrol engine.
With its 800-plus bhp powerplant developed in conjunction with Aston Martin Racing, this front mid-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car draws extensively on the brand’s rich GT motorsport experience.
Utilising the techniques of world-class motorsport engineering, the supercar sees its power-to-weight ratio exceed those of the GTE cars which compete in the FIA’s annual World Endurance Championship.
Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, said: “Aston Martin Vulcan is, by its very nature, a rare and thrilling supercar. Designed and engineered to deliver a genuinely bespoke driving experience that draws on our rich heritage, this car tailors its power and handling to both the capabilities of the driver and the characteristics of the track.
“A sports car for true sports car lovers, I believe the Aston Martin Vulcan – and the unique ownership programme that sits behind it – sets a whole new standard in the ultra-high luxury supercar class.”
