Coventry MotoFest 2017
Coventry Motofest is to showcase an all star car line up at this year’s festival with the original Aston Martin DBS from The Persuaders, an array of stunning Jaguars including the XJR9 and XJ13 and modern and classic British Touring Cars among the headline acts.
One of the highlights of the festival will see organisers pay tribute to the late Sir Roger Moore with the original Aston Martin DBS he drove in The Persuaders TV series going on display at Coventry Cathedral during the weekend.
The Aston Martin DBS will be among a host of intriguing and exotic machinery on displaywith a Ferrari 488 GTB driven to Motofest by renowned Automotive You Tuber Sam Fane A.K.A Seen Through Glass, set to be another all star car to admire at Coventry Motofest.
With a You Tube following of over 250,000, vlogger and internet sensation Sam Fane will drive the Ferrari 488 GTB from Maranello, the home town of Ferrari, to Coventry Motofest, where it will go on static display during the course of the festival weekend.
Away from the display and back on the track the Jaguars are set to roar with the XJR9 1988 Le Mans winning car and the rare XJ13, a prototype racing car built in the 1960s and the only one of its kind in the world set to run on the Bennetts Sprint Circuit courtesy of the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
Coventry Motofest will also take it to the max this year as Power Maxed Racing’s British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) Vauxhall Astra runs on the circuit with a special celebrity driver, Great British Bake-Off celebrity judge Paul Hollywood, at the wheel.
The Power Maxed BTCC car will be supplemented by an array of classic touring cars from past series and McLarens past and present will also be represented on track with a McLaren 12c Spider and a McLaren 650s Spider from the McLaren Owners Club.
If that all wasn’t enough organisers will also pay tribute on track to iconic rally driver Timo Makinen, who passed away in May, by running the Flying Finn’s 1965 Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini Cooper S on the ‘Bennetts Sprint Circuit’.
For two wheel fans a Bennetts Suzuki GSX-R1000 running a special commemorative Barry Sheene livery from last year’s British Superbike Championship, Kevin Schwantz’s 1993 Moto GP championship winning bike and a Phil Read world championship bike from the 70s, will all feature on display and on track.

“There is so much to see and do at this year’s Motofest with incredible vehicles such as the original Aston Martin DBS driven by Sir Roger Moore in The Persuaders on display and on trackvarious four and two wheeled stars including the heritage Jaguars, the Power Maxed BTCC car with Paul Hollywood at the wheel and an array of championship winning bikes.
“Alongside the various static displays and fringe events we also have a great music line-up across the two days with our first ever Saturday evening gig with internationally acclaimed artists Nell Bryden and Brian Houston taking to the stage.
