Coventry MotoFest 2015
The world debut of the F-TYPE R AWD Bloodhound SSC Rapid Response Vehicle(RRV) and a cavalcade of cars from Jaguar’s past and present are set to provide Motofest 2015 with one of its greatest spectacles during the three day motoring festival.
In a world first at Motofest 2015, Jaguar will unveil the F-TYPE R AWD Bloodhound SSC RRV – one of the cars that will support the Bloodhound world land speed record attempt.
The Bloodhound F-TYPE R is the latest project of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations and is wrapped in a bespoke livery created by Jaguar Design incorporating the Bloodhound SSC colours.
As Technical Partner of Bloodhound SSC, Jaguar is supplying engines, engineering expertise and a number of support vehicles for the attempt to break the world land speed record.
The Bloodhound F-TYPE will be taking part in the laps on Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31, on the new ring road sprint circuit set up as part of Motofest 2015.
It will be joined by an array of vehicles from the Jaguar Heritage collection, dating from 1938 to the modern day, for a daily regular procession on the Saturday and Sunday of the Motofest event.
Each of the cars will be driven by various celebrity and motoring journalist drivers, who will take the cars on laps of the Motofest ring road track at designated times during the second and third days of the three day motoring festival.
Once the laps have been completed, the vehicles will be parked up in a special Jaguar vehicle display area to enable the public to see the vehicles close up during the weekend.
James Noble, Motofest Festival Director, said: “The Jaguar brand is such an important part of Coventry’s motoring heritage and so we are delighted to celebrate that historical connection with the world debut of Bloodhound F-TYPE and the cavalcade of heritage vehicles.
“It’s going to be an amazing spectacle to see the Bloodhound F-TYPE and the full historic range of vehicles on the ring road and we extend our thanks to Jaguar and their Heritage Division for making this happen.
“This is another fantastic coup for Motofest 2015 and will simply add to what is already shaping up to be the biggest and best Motofest ever staged.”
The all-star line-up of Jaguar heritage vehicles will include a 1956 D-type Long Nose and the stunning 1966 XJ13 – the only one of its kind in existence.
A 1974 Group 44 E-type, a 1976 Broadspeed XJ12 Coupé and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9 will also see action over the weekend, while a 1938 SS 100 will be on static display to visitors to the event.
Coventry Motofest is a three-day festival – running from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31 – dedicated to the city’s motoring heritage involving pop-up motorsport displays, demonstration events, static displays, live music and fringe events.
