A double dose of special car and motorbike display taster events are set to fuel interest for the Motofest Coventry main event.
The first Open Garage session taking place at Coventry’s Fargo Village, on Saturday April 7th from 10am – 3pm, will showcase “Millennium Heroes,” welcoming 80’s, 90’s and 00’s iconic performance cars such as the GSis, GTIs, GT-Rs and Cosworths.
Alongside the “Millennium Heroes” showcase will be the “Bagged and Tagged with Dub Club,” a display of lowered, air ride and custom cars, which will be located in the indoor display area of the Fargo Village in Far Gosford Street, Coventry.
The second teaser event on May 5th, “Party in the Rear,” celebrates rear-engined vehicles including Porsche, VW, NSU, Skoda, Imp, Alpine and anything else with all the power going on at the back of the car.
A range of custom and performance motorbikes will also be on show across the course of the Open Garage sessions.
Motofest Coventry’s race director Darren Langeveld said: “The Open Garage sessions are an opportunity for people to get a taste of the main Motofest Coventry event by getting up close to some incredible pieces of machinery.
“Each session will cater to the interests of different motoring enthusiasts and provide visitors with the chance to see static car and bike displays, on a smaller scale to what will be available at Motofest Coventry.
“If anyone has a car or bike that they feel might be appropriate to display at one of the sessions they should get in touch with us.”
Spaces for each session are limited and vehicles must be pre-invited in order to take part in the displays.
Those wishing to display vehicles at any of the Open Garage sessions should contact Motofest Coventry via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 024 7622 5928.
Motofest Coventry is a two-day festival dedicated to the city’s motoring heritage, which this year takes place on Saturday 2 June and Sunday 3 June.
The largest free urban motorsport festival in the UK will feature a range of automotive activities from pop-up and demonstration events to static displays and fringe events in and around Coventry’s iconic city centre.
