Coventry MotoFest 2017
Jaguar Experience at Coventry’s Motofest 2017 celebrates the marque’s long associations with the city and its continuing presence in the Midlands as a car manufacturer. At the Jaguar Experience stand, visitors can admire the latest models from the Jaguar range, learn moreabout the company’s advanced production facilities and even enjoy the thrills of a track experience with a professional driver at the wheel.
Jaguar’s history is indelibly associated with the city of Coventry. Production was based at Brown’s Lane Coventry from 1951 to 2005 and it was from this citadel that the all-conquering C-Type and D-Type racing cars ventured forth to triumph five times at Le Mans during the 1950s.
Today Jaguar’s main centre of production is at nearby Castle Bromwich where the Jaguar Experience offers hosted factory tours. Visitors can view at close quarters the complex and fascinating choreography of an advanced car assembly plant; from the bare metal pressings of lightweight aluminium at the heart of each Jaguar’s body architecture, to the roar of the engine as each completed car is driven off the production lines. The personally-guided tours, which last 1.5 hours and include refreshments, cost just £49 per guest and are available for individual and group bookings.
But Castle Bromwich is more than a car production plant – it’s a destination in its own right for meetings and conferences. Jaguar Experience at Castle Bromwich offers corporate clients a choice of appealing meeting places, all equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology and backed up by a helpful, efficient support team. From a drinks reception to a sales conference, the Jaguar Experience can create memorable and inspiring events, with the option to add factory tours and drives to the day’s schedule.
Jaguar Experience also offers a choice of track driving experiences close to Castle Bromwich at a closed test facility. Guests can choose from a number of tailored experiences to explore the acceleration, agility and technology of current Jaguar models including the XE, XJ and F-TYPE. The track experiences can be combined with a factory tour or taken as a stand-alone driving experience. With the friendly guidance of professional instructors, everyone, from experienced driver to the newly-qualified, can enjoy the responsive and exhilarating performance of a 2017 Jaguar – and gain valuable driving skills at the same time.
Fans of classic cars can rediscover their inner Mike Hawthorn or Stirling Moss with a Classic Tour and Track Experience, again starting at Castle Bromwich. After a tour of the production facility, guests are handed the keys to a modern-day XE, XF or XJ models for the journey to a nearby proving ground where they can then enjoy a 1.5 hour session, putting the company’s collection of XK150s, Mark IIs, V12 XJCs and E-types through their paces.
Visitors to Motofest can enjoy a taste of the Jaguar Experience track drives by booking a passenger ride around the Motofest closed ring-road course. The Jaguar Experience pro drivers will be on hand to drive guests in the Jaguar XE, XF and XJ while a special VIP Experience is available for these brave enough to strap themselves in for a full-throttle blast in the supercharged F-TYPE sports car.
