
MotoFest Month 2021
MotoFest Month 2021 was the new format of MotoFest in 2021 and gave us three fantastic weekends of fun and activity instead of the usual two-day festival held in early June. The themed weekends meant whether you were a two wheeled or a four wheeled fan, there was be something for everyone to enjoy!
What did we get up to during MotoFest Month 2021?
There was plenty doing on during MotoFest Month 2021 from the launch of the Our Future Moves exhibition in the Coventry Transport Museum to our tradition Motorcycle Ride In and our brand new Coventry Concours event. Get the low down below.
Weekend 1 – Transport and Innovation
We started MotoFest Month 2021 by looking forward to the great innovations and emerging technologies to help us with our transport solutions.

Weekend 2 – Motorcycle Weekend
Coventry came alive with the roar of hundreds of motorcycles joining us in the city centre for displays and our first MotoFest Classic and Custom Motorcycle Show. Not forgetting our traditional MotoFest Ride In which started the weekend, departing from Coombe Abbey.

Coventry Concours
The first physical Coventry Concours – sponsored by prestige classic, sports and racing car sales brand Car-Iconics and Bike-Iconics, brought the Coventry Cathedral ruins to life with an array of wonderful classic cars. All those on display had a strong Coventry theme from Jaguars and Daimlers to Standards and Triumphs all represented at the show.
This event was ran with our friends at the Association of Heritage Engineers.

BBC Drive In Screenings
We were joined by the fans of MotoFest and Coventry for the exclusive drive in cinema experiences to celebrate Coventry, UK City of Culture’s as part of the Summer of Surprises.
The BBC Four documentaries, Classic British Cars: Made in Coventry and Coventry Cathedral: Building for a New Britain were screened right in the heart of Coventry City Centre.
MotoFest Film Festival
We were then joined by families to honour our love of all things automotive with the showings of two iconic films – Disney’s Cars and Blues Brothers. Helping us to kick off the MotoFest Car weekend right!
Not forgetting CineCov’s great open air screening of the classic Italian Job in the famous Coventry Cathedral Ruins.
Weekend 4 – MotoFest Car Weekend
Classics
Over the final two days of MotoFest Month 202 we saw see hundreds of the best original, classic vehicles in the heart of the city, under the colourful ribbons in Broadgate.
As well as these displays, there way a special 125-year anniversary celebration of the city’s famous Riley, car manufacturer in University Square. With a visit from Victor Riley, grandson of the firm’s founder William Riley.
Modern Modified Cars
The former Ikea Multi storey saw a variety of Modern Modified, modern classics and modified cars under 30 years old, strut their stuff throughout the weekend.
Along with the Modern Modified Show and Shine competition going down a treat. Check out the winners here.
MotoDrive by Ace Parade
Partner’s Ace Parade filled Millennium Place with a stunning collection of performance vehicles which took a scenic drive around the Warwickshire countryside out to the Dallas Burston Polo Club.
Heroes Hour
Not forgetting the outstanding Heroes Hour Parade celebrating the unsung local heroes of the pandemic with a parade through Coventry featuring Ecto1 from the Ghostbusters film and a fleet of American Cop cars.
The MotoFest Drive In Show
For one night only, we hosted a live stage show packed with awesome music, guest interviews and plenty of laughs, plus appearances from the Riley Car Club and Victor Riley, grandson of the firm’s founder William Riley.
MotoFest Music
We were also joined by some great music from local Coventry bands and musicians within Millennium Place, creating the sound track for the MotoFest Car Weekend from the Nexus ICA Stage.
Then finally, HOPE Coventry came together for a celebration closing the MotoFest Month 2021 event within Millennium Place.
